Burnt out at Shipyard

B’Island Shipyard6

Hawick Royal Albert1

Lining up with a makeshift side, Royal Albert got off to an encouraging start by taking an early lead when Michael Smith chested down a Liam Henderson cross before shooting into the net.

The Albert had the edge for the remainder of the first half.

Following the changeover, Burntisland equalised and within two minutes of this, the Shipyard men went ahead. From here on, Burntisland were in the driving seat and went on to notch another four goals.

Albert coach Alan McKenzie said of the game: “I thought we were the better side in the first half.

“In the second, we battled away, but legs began to tire, and we had no-one to bring on from the bench.

“So the boys just had to get on with it and do their best.”
