Borders rugby internationals Stuart Hogg and Lee Jones have boosted their chances of being involved with the 2015 Scotland World Cup squad by signing new deals with Glasgow Warriors.
Both were part of the Commonwealth Games 7s squad and both have signed contracts which will keep them in Gregor Townsend’s Glasgow set-up until at least May 2017.
Hogg was an instrumental part of the Scotland Autumn Test squad and the 22-year-old Hawick full-back is delighted to be staying at the club for which he has already made 58 appearances.
“I want to be the best player I possibly can be and I believe at Glasgow I’ve got the right coaches and players around me to help me along the way,” he added.
Jones initially joined the Warriors on loan from Edinburgh Rugby last season, before signing a one-year deal at Scotstoun in August.
The 26-year-old from Selkirk has made 10 appearances for the club and has four caps for his country.
“Having so many players in the Scotland squad has been really positive for the club and I believe I can work hard to be involved in the future,” he said.
