A look ahead to this weekend’s Lowland and EoS fixtures

Peebles Rovers recently fell to Lowland League outfit Spartans in the South Challenge Cup and, on Saturday, face an Ainslie Park team again.

This time around however it’s East of Scotland Spartans in league business at Whitestone Park.

Peebles manager John O’Hara said: “Okay it might be the East of Scotland Spartans but they are a very good side and are going well in the league.

“It will be a stern test for us. We are playing quite well but our problem at the moment is that we are creating plenty of chances but we just can’t put them away. It’s a bit concerning and we really need to start scoring.”

In the Lowland League, Selkirk entertain Gretna 2008 at Yarrow Park.

Selkirk stand three points ahead of Gretna in the League table and this forthcoming clash has all the makings of being a close and keenly fought affair.

Elsewhere in the Lowland League Gala Fairydean Rovers line up against Edinburgh University at Netherdale while Vale of Leithen play host to Stirling University.

Hawick Royal Albert travel to face Lowland League high flyers Spartans for an East of Scotland Cup clash. The Albert are without Dale Urey and Lewis Blake who have both joined Eyemouth United on loan.
