On Saturday, May 30, from noon, there’s to be a special match between the current team and a group of ‘St Boswells Legends’.

Peter Glover, a title-winning captain from 1983, is set to don the whites again and assemble a team of ‘old’ players to challenge the current XI – which is captained by his son Jamie.

“We want to get as many ex-players, old members and supporters to the club that day for a catch-up,” explained a spokesman. “There are sure to be lots of stories!”

A 125th Celebration Night and Dinner Dance – for which tickets will be limited – is planned for Saturday, September 5, at the Buccleuch Arms, with details still being finalised.

The spokesman said the club is always on the lookout for players of all ages and abilities, adding: “We have all standards of games (Saturday League, midweek 20-20s and friendlies. Beginners are welcome.”
