Cash boost means ice time for would be curlers
Along with Border Ice Rink the group have secured a grant of just over £9,000 which will enable them to introduce the sport of curling to people of all ages and abilities as well as continuing to develop their skills in the future.
Development officer and treasurer of the BCDG, Helen Mathieson, was part of the hard working team behind the funding bid and is delighted that the group can continue to grow the support in the area.

“This support from Big Lottery is enabling the Rink to people a sponsored Try Curling opportunity, in association with our governing body the Royal Caledonian Curling Club and will allow the Group to support Ice for Beginners and Club players to learn and improve their curling.”
Curling is currently enjoyed by over 500 Borderers at the Kelso based venue.
“It is a friendly, inclusive sport and has many benefits to health and fitness,” added Mrs Mathieson.
