Borders Sport and Leisure is urging the local sporting community to nominate potential baton bearers for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.
In total, 4,000 people will be required to carry the baton on its route across Scotland. To be considered for the honour, the nominee must be over 12 and have been an inspiration to their local community.
They could be someone who helps at a local sports club, has raised funds for charity through their sporting endeavours, has achieved against the odds or is simply a good role model to others.
Ewan Jackson, chief executive of Borders Sport & Leisure said: “It would be great to have a strong Borders contingent carrying the baton.”
All nominations for baton bearers must be submitted before Friday, November 22.
Nominees will be judged on merit and not on the number of applications.
