IN PICTURES: Borders filled with noise for sixth week to thank key workers

Borderers took to their doorsteps to applaud our key workers for a sixth consecutive week on Thursday evening.

Just two days before they had fallen silent at 11am as part of a nationwide minute set aside to remember those NHS staff UK-wide who have died from Coronavirus, including Borders nurse Angie Cunningham,60, who died last month.

On Thursday, though, it was a case of the more noise the better, with children battering their pots and pans, and pipers playing on their doorsteps across the region, to support the now-weekly #clapforcarers initiative.
