Zambra at Mellerstain

THE sextet Zambra perform in Mellerstain House for the Borders Music and Arts Society’s latest concert next Thursday, June 21.

The group is made up of graduates from the Royal Academy of Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Scottish Conservatoire.

Their career started six years ago when they won the prestigious Mary D Adams prize for chamber music at the conservatoire.

Highlights since then have included a performance for the Duke of Edinburgh and an appearance in the iconic Gherkin skyscraper in London.

They will play three short pieces by Ibert, a quintet by Beethoven, a trio by Glinka and a sextet by Poulenc.

A reception starts at 7pm, followed by the concert at 7.30pm, and tickets cost £20.50. Visit or phone Kathy Carroll on 01835 864120.
