Your front-page story last week about the Whitton wind farm application being rejected raises the prime importance and beauty of the Cheviot Hills.
These go hand-in-hand with the culture and importance of our Border area.
You also raise the offered incentive to the people of Morebattle. This reminds me of the “King’s Shilling” which left thousands of sailors “repenting”, but not at their leisure.
I was born in Morebattle and lived there for 10 years, and close to it all my life. Thinking about large parts of windmills on huge transporters and the constant noise of these over the next 25 years makes me think the council has got its priorities right in rejecting this project.
