Many public servants, although that term hardly seems applicable now, are outraged because they are being asked to pay more towards their pensions.
They should remember that every penny they receive comes out of the pockets of the private sector taxpayers.
They claim that they contribute to their pension fund and pay tax on their wages. However, the tax they pay only reduces the amount they receive from the private sector taxpayer and they actually contribute nothing at all to their pensions.
The entire public servant pension is funded by the private sector as both their contribution and the portion paid by the state comes out of the pockets of the private sector taxpayer.
