Willing to donate

Throughout November, solicitors across the UK will be participating in the annual Will Aid campaign, providing people with the opportunity to make a will and rather than pay a fee to a solicitor, make a donation to Will Aid.

The Will Aid campaign supports nine of the UK’s best-known charities – Action Aid, British Red Cross, Christian Aid, Age UK, NSPCC, Save the Children UK, Sightsavers International, SCIAF (Scotland) and Trocaire (Northern Ireland) – and last year raised £2.1million. At Stormonth Darling W.S., we are keen participants in the scheme and last year managed to raise £2,235.

As many as 70 per cent of Scots do not have wills and if this applies to any readers, why not consider making an appointment with a participating solicitor this November? The minimum suggested donation is £90 for a single will and £135 for a couple/mirror-image wills.

Further information can be obtained from www.willaid.org.uk.
