The Lauderdale Hotel in Lauder recently played host to 22 bikers who were undertaking a sponsored cycle ride on behalf of military charity, Help for Heroes.

They were on a route taking them from Edinburgh to London over the course of a week, with 15 of them wounded ex-servicemen, most of whom are single, double, and in one case triple, amputees.

Having set out from Edinburgh, the servicemen got a tasty Borders welcome at the hotel of bacon and egg rolls.

Cakes and buns were donated by Sandra Todd, from the Co-op in Kelso. The team’s route took them on to Jedburgh where they enjoyed donated refreshments from the Co-op, Simply Scottish, The Brown Sugar Café, Coffee Corner and Meringue Place.
