Visitors were horrified by valley view

We were recently on holiday in Kelso to visit some of the varied and very enjoyable events during the Borders Festival of the Horse.

On May 26 we were travelling via Nisbet and Roxburgh along one of the many beautiful valleys that may be found in the Borders. However, we were horrified at the view across the valley when a housing estate came into sight. We believe that they were originally built as Sunlaws village and that they are very expensive.

It is difficult to understand how the planners/council could allow them to look more like the relic of an unplanned mining village.

We are very fond of the Borders and felt that we must make this observation to you.
