To commemorate the centenary year of the PGA of America, the national tourism organisation and Scottish Development International took the opportunity at the recent PGA Show 2016 in Orlando, Florida, to present the US golfing body with a unique tartan weave created at Lochcarron of Scotland’s weaving mills.

The new PGA of America Centennial Tartan was the brainchild of Matt Clark, the owner of Scottish golf business Bridge Golf Scotland. VisitScotland contacted the in-house design team at Lochcarron of Scotland about the initial idea and asked if the company could develop the design concept and weave the new tartan - the colours of which were carefully chosen to represent those of the PGA of America, as well as Scotland’s Saltire flag and the iconic Stars and Stripes banner of the United States.
