Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision on the A7 this morning (February 17).
The incident occurred at around 8am, approximately four miles north of the Galashiels, when a black Vauxhall Corsa was involved in a collision with a black motorcycle.
The 49-year-old male biker sustained serious injuries and was taken to the Edinburgh Road Infirmary. His condition is currently described as critical but stable. A 56-year-old woman, who was driving the Vauxhall Corsa, was taken to Borders General Hospital for minor injuries.
The road was closed for around seven hours while police carried out their investigations.
Police are now urging any witnesses to come forward.
PC Fraser Todd said: “This was a serious collision and we are eager to speak to anyone with information. Anyone who may have witnesses this collision, or saw either vehicle on the A7 this morning, is asked to contact police immediately.”
