Roadworks

Galashiels: A7 south of Boleside closed May 12 to May 15 between 7.30pm to 6.30am for overnight resurfacing and sign improvement to take place. Route will be open between 6.30am and 7.30pm. During the works, traffic wishing to head southbound on the A7 will be diverted onto the A6091 towards the A68 then travel south to St Boswells and turn right onto the A699. Traffic heading northbound will be diverted onto the A699 towards St Boswells where traffic will be directed north onto the A68 towards Galashiels. Emergency vehicles and public service buses will be allowed to access the road during works, but under escort.

Church Street and Greenbank Street closed on May 11 for two weeks for gas main replacement and sewer connection. 24 hour closure. Alternative Local Route – Church Street: Eastbound via – St John’s Street, Bank Street, Bridge Place, Ladhope Vale, Curry Road, George Craig Bridge, Braw Lads Brae, Albert Place and Abbotsford Road to point of closure. Westbound via – Abbotsford Road, Albert Place, Cornmill Square, St

Johns Street, Scott Crescent and Church Street to point of closure. Alternative Route East/West Traffic: Eastbound via – Kirk Brae, Hall Street, Island Street, Bridge Place, Ladhope Vale, Currie Road, George Craig Bridge, Braw Lads Brae, Albert Place and Abbotsford Road to point of closure. Westbound via – Abbotsford Road Albert Place, Braw Lads Brae, George Craig Bridge, Currie Road, Ladhope Vale. Hawick: Footpath adjacent to block 7 closed at Stonefield Place from March 23 to July 24 to accommodate scaffolding for building repairs.

Bonchester Rideout: The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on May 9 between the hours of 12.45pm and 8.30pm. These closures will only come into effect at such times as when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform. Backdamgate, Allars Crescent, Mill Path, Tower Knowe, Sandbed, Howegate, Kirk Wynd, Slitrig Crescent, Liddesdale Road to Colifort Hill, C29 south of Hawthornside Hill, D68/3 between Highend and Forkins, D66/3 between Forkins and Bonchester Bridge, A6088, B6357, D63/3 from Heathfield to its junction with the A6088 at Hawthornside, D20/3 north of Ormiston to its junction with the D19/3 east of the Orchard, D19/3 from east of the Orchard to its junction with the A6088, A698, Weensland Road, Bourtree Place, High Street.

Cogsmill Rideout: The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on May 12 between the hours of 1.45pm and 8.15pm. These closures will only come into effect at such times as when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform. Backdamgate, Allars Crescent, Mill Path, Tower Knowe, Sandbed, Howegate, Drumlanrig Square, Loan, Rosebank Road, Haggis Ha Brae, D24/3 north west of St Leonards to Haggis Ha Brae, D24/3 north west of St Leonards to the D23/3 at Williestruther, B6399 at Cogsmill, D20/3 south of Ormiston, D21/3 from Braid road to the D20/3 at Ormiston, Wellogate Brae, Loch Park Industrial Est, Lock Park Road, Garfield Street, O’Connell Street, High Street.

Selkirk: Footbridge closure at Riverside Footbridge, in effect from April 20 to May 14 to carry out works associated with the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme. 24-hour closure. An alternative footpath route will be signposted.

Footbridge/Footpath Closure at South Bridge Street Footbridge/Victoria Park Footpath on May 13 for 20 weeks to carry out works associated with the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme. An alternative footpath route will be signposted.

Road closure at Riverside Road at its junction with Level Crossing Road for a distance of 70m (approx) in a north-easterly direction, April 20 to August 21, to carry out works associated with the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme. 24-hour closure. Alternative route – Northbound via Level Crossing Road, Dunsdale Haugh, temporary access road through Recycling Centre and Riverside Road to point of closure. Southbound via the above in reverse.

A708 east of Philiphaugh Farm closed on May 11 for four weeks to carry out works associated with the Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme. 24 hour closure. Alternative Route – Eastbound via – A708, A707 Linglie Road and A708 to point of closure. Westbound via – The prior in reverse

Cacrabank: Road closure for carriageway patching works at B711 Cacrabank from May 5 for four days from 8.30am till 4pm. Alternative Route – Northbound via B711, A7, A707, B7009 and B709 to point of closure. Southbound via – the above in reverse.

Ladykirk Farm Bridge: C96 road closed due to bridge maintenance works on May 11 for three weeks. 24 hour closure. Alternative Route – Northbound via – B6470, B6437, B6461 and C96 to point if closure. Southbound via – The above in reverse.

Longformacus: C98 south of Hardens Hill closed due to carriageway patching works on May 7 for two days, 8am till 4pm daily. Alternative Route – Eastbound via – C98, C133, B6355, B6365, A6112, A6105 and C98 to point of closure. Westbound – The above in reverse.

Peebles Beltane Festival - Queen’s Court Parade: The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on the May 13 between the hours of 2.30pm and 4pm. These closures will only come into effect at such times as when under the instruction of a police officer in uniform.
