List of roadworks due in and around the Scottish Borders:

Melrose: Maintenance work, to improve the durability and extend the working life of the road surface on the A68 Ravenswood Roundabout, is under way as part of Transport Scotland’s on-going trunk roads maintenance programme. Work will be carried out on until Friday November 21 from 7am to 8pm; November 21 and 22, from 7pm to 10am; November 23 from 7pm till 12pm, and November 23-27 from 7pm to 8am.

Selkirk: B7014 at Dunsdale Haugh (from Oregon Timber access to Dunsdale Motors) closed due to work associated with Selkirk Flood Protection Scheme from Monday, November 24 to Friday, December 19, 2014 and from Monday, January 5 to Friday, February 20, 2015. Alternative route: Southbound via A7, A707 and B7014 to point of closure. Northbound via B7014, Mill Street, A707 and A7 to point of closure.

Selkirk: A one-way system will temporarily be imposed in a south westerly direction on the High Street from its junction with the A7 to its junction with Back Row. It is expected that the work will take place over 5 days commencing on Monday, November 24. The alternative north easterly route is via Tower Street and Back Row to point of one-way. Reason for closure is to allow essential Scottish Power works to take place.

Hawick: The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic on Saturday, November 29, between the hours of 4-5.30pm to allow the Christmas Parade to take place. Duke Street – from its junction with Mart Street to its junction with Noble Place. Alternative route: Eastbound via – Mart Street, Weensland Road, Trinity Street and Noble Place to point of closure. Westbound via – the above in reverse.

Hawick: The following roads will be closed on Saturday, November 29 to vehicular traffic between the hours of 4-5.30pm: Mart Street, Bourtree Place, High Street, Tower Knowe, Sandbed, Albert Road and Victoria Road.

Kelso: Christmas Lights 2014. Parking will be prohibited on the following roads from 12.30pm to 10.30pm on Saturday, 29 November: Wood Market (2 No. disabled bays and 1 No. electric vehicle charging point.)

Galashiels: The section of Huddersfield Street adjacent to Schofields Mill will be closed from Monday, December 1 at 8am for six weeks to allow a new gas main to be installed. Alternative route: Eastbound – via Greenbank Street, Abbotsford Road, Tweed Road, Netherdale Brae, Larchbank Street and Huddersfield Street to point of closure. Westbound – the above in reverse.
