A major rescue operation has been launched

Police are appealing for witnesses after tools worth £4,000 were stolen from three Ford Transit vans in Galashiels.

The incident happened between 12am and 4am on Tuesday November.

The vans belonged to local tradesmen and were parked in Balmoral Road, Stanley Street and Forest Road.

PC Martin Gibson said: “The suspects forced entry to all of the vans and may have been noticeable as they carried out these offences.

“We believe there are four individuals responsible and would ask anyone who can help us trace them is asked to contact police immediately.

“In particular, anyone who may have seen the suspects in or around Forest Road, should get in touch.”
