Time running out to get tickets for Galashiels Burns Club dinner

The deadline is fast approaching to purchase tickets for the 2020 Galashiels Burns Club Annual Supper.

Ticket stubs and £25 fee need to be received by Thursday, January 16, to allow table plans to be set and preparation for the required number of meals

Any late request for tickets should be made to any committee member or by email to [email protected] as soon as possible

to avoid disappointment at missing out.

The Burns Supper is due to take place in the Volunteer Hall on Friday, January 24.

There is a distinct Borders favour among the top table speakers.

Ian Landles from Hawick makes a welcome return to propose the Immortal Memory,

Kelso’s Tom Tinlin will deliver the Toast to the Lasses and raising a class to the Land of Cakes and Caledonia will be Donald Francis from Selkirk.

The recitations will be provided by John Tullie and two very special guests.

The musical entertainers are Sam Clelland (vocals), Bruce Hastie (bagpipes), Chris Achenbach (piano) and David Darling (fiddle) plus a debut appearance by one of Scotland’s most prolific singer/songwriters, Gala’s very own George Inglis.

Dress code is formal and the bar will be open from 6pm for a prompt 7pm start.
