Jedburgh Young Engineers’ Club has won a £1,000 grant from the Scottish Council for Development and Industry towards its project to develop and engineer a single-seat green-powered car.

The grant, plus money from Jedburgh Rotary Club, means the club has raised £1,380, which has allowed it to order the fundamental parts for car. The Rotary club funds have allowed the group to pay insurance and the track fees.

The engineers, pictured, will produce a final product to show at the Grampian transport museum racetrack, and possibly to take to a UK-wide contest at Goodwood racetrack in the south of England.
