SKERRYVORE celebrate an action- packed and award-winning 2011 with an appearance at Langholm’s Buccleuch Centre on Saturday.

The trad-rock group who include bagpipes, fiddle and accordion in their music, have toured Spain, Ireland, Germany, France, Belgium, Denmark and the United States this summer.

And to top it off, they received two prizes at the inaugural Scottish New Music Awards.

Formed in 2004 on the isle of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides, the band’s roots are in traditional Scottish music but have since developed in size and sound to create a fusion of traditional with rock and funk.

They are led by singer Alec Dalglish, and have appeared at a host of festivals across the world including Celtic Connections and T in the Park. They previously won album of the month on BBC Radio Scotland’s Celtic Connections international broadcast.

Tickets for the gig are priced at £12.50, concessions £11 and under 18s £6. The show starts at 7.30pm and tickets can be bought by phoning 013873 81196.
