Bari Gadgi Mark Dixon spoke this week of his elation as he and Bari Manushi Caroline Raw led more than 150 riders in the annual Yetholm rideout.
He said: “The whole week was absolutely brilliant. It seems to go so fast.
“I have ridden the Stob Stanes a few times since my first in 2004, but being at the front was the best experience ever.”
On a dry but cold day, Mark and Caroline led the way at the start of the ride, crossing the village green in Town Yetholm.
Villager Stuart Smith gave the oration at the Stob Stane.
Three-and-a-half hours later, the 168 riders and their horses returned to the village.
The procession entered Kirk Yetholm under the golden light of the setting sun, preceded by Kelso Pipe Band.
Councillor Alec Nicol gave the speech of welcome and presented the prizes – one of them to the youngest rider in the cavalcade – Frances Cromarty of Jedburgh.
