Stopping point

The Carlisle-Edinburgh bus journey takes three-and-a-half hours, but only at Galashiels can passengers get out for a toilet break.

The buses are timed to stop there for six minutes. The bus company has told me that if they’re running four minutes late, that will come off their stopping time.

Two questions – is six minutes a long-enough stop, especially as the toilets are quite a bit away, and should the company be telling its drivers they must stop for the full six minutes, if passengers need this, even if the buses are late?

Well done those drivers who make a real stop at Galashiels.
