Over 50 employees which work in different parts of the company, will be manning the phones on Friday evening, raising money for the charity.

The call centre team will be taking part in different games over the course of the night, while also tucking into a tempting selection of fast-food, soft drinks and confectionary.

Spark Energy chief executive Chris Gauld will be playing his part in the fundraising efforts, working a shift on the phones alongside his staff.

He said: “Sport Relief is a really worthwhile cause and its work has a lasting impact on the lives of so many.

“I’m really pleased by the enthusiasm the team has shown to get involved in the call-handling and it’s great for them to be able to put their customer service skills to another purpose.

“Giving back to the local community is something we take extremely seriously as a business and I’m sure we’ll do a great job on the night.”
