Myself and Richie Gray (Sound Festival organisers) would to thank Nigel and staff (Waverley nursing home), Jenny and staff (Eildon nursing home), and not forgetting the residents themselves, for being an absolute pleasure to work with during the past five months.
When I came up with the idea of using Scott Park, Galashiels, back in March I personally met those at the homes before moving forward with anything else. This was all about respecting the surroundings from day one.
The festival has been credited as a huge success by all. Our main objective was crowd safety and providing the public with a fun-packed, family-friendly day out. A thousand people attended the festival with not one incident on the day.
We were delighted to see everyone having a great time, witnessing everything from a seven-month-old baby to a 90-year-old partying in the dance tent. We had something on the day for every generation.
Every band, solo artist and Dj was on top form.
The four-day set-up was well worth it and we hope to be back for more next year.
Thanks to all who attended and everyone that got behind the event – you made it a day to remember.
