Sound Festival pays tribute to pop greats

Next month’s Sound Festival brings tribute bands to Galashiels’ Volunteer Hall on Saturday, May 3.

The Coldplay tribute band Coldplayer will be joined by Hull-based Kings of Lyon, “known as the best, the most accurate and vibrant tribute to the Kings of Leon”, according to organiser Steve Cass.

Glasgow-based Simple Minded, who have been performing Simple Minds classics such as Alive and Kicking, Ghost Dancing and Waterfront, will be the third main act to take to the stage.

Steve Cass and Justin Wilson, aka No Strings Attached, will bring something different to the gig by playing an eclectic set, before Madeleine Dow joins the line up performing an acoustic set.

Tickets priced £15 are now on sale at, from Music Station, Galashiels, and The Station Hotel, Melrose.

You can win a free pair of tickets by being the first to email with the correct answer to the following question: What was the name of Coldplay’s first album?
