Sickness bug continues to affect Borders General Hospital

Visitors are once again being discouraged from visiting friends and relatives at the BGH as the norovirus outbreak continues to affect the hospital.

Ward 12 remains closed to new admissions and one bay in Ward 10 is closed.

An NHS Borders spokesperson said: “The situation is being managed by NHS Borders Infection Control Team with support from frontline colleagues in the BGH and in the community.

“Visitors to Ward 12 are strongly discouraged at this time and the general advice is to stay away from the wards if you or anyone in your family has experienced symptoms of diarrhoea and/or vomiting in the past 48 hours. This advice applies especially to children.”
