Shoppers stuck in lift at Galashiels Tesco for two hours and counting
Shoppers are believed to have been stuck in a lift at Tesco’s Galashiels store for over two hours today, February 19.
Emergency services were first called to the Paton Street supermarket just after 11am.
Fire crews have been unable to free the customers, at least one of whom is believed to be an elderly man, so far, however.
A lift engineer is reported to have been called out, and an ambulance is also in attendance.
A spokesperson for Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said the incident is ongoing so few details are available as yet.
The number of people inside the elevator is not known.
