A man has been jailed for 270 days at Jedburgh Sheriff Court for causing a disturbance at Galashiels transport interchange.

Lee Dickson, 25, of Bannerfield Drive in Selkirk, pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner there on April 18.

He admitted shouting and swearing, making threatening and abusive comments and hitting a bus.

The court was told that Dickson and a female companion were drunk and aggressive, leading to them being warned by a staff member about their conduct.

That warning prompted Dickson to become abusive, leading to the police being called and charges brought against him.

His nine-month prison sentence is also for various breaches of court orders.
