The culmination of the Roxburgh Singers’ 50th anniversary year in 2013 was a ‘Come and Sing’ Fauré Requiem, but January sees an early start to their 2014 concert season.
A Festival of Psalms will feature children’s choirs from Melrose Primary and Drumlanrig Schools in Howard Goodall’s version of ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’, made popular by the Vicar of Dibley. The programme includes old favourites, such as Brahms’ ‘How lovely are thy dwellings’ and Parry’s ‘I was glad’. The concerts both start at 3pm – Sunday January 19, in Kelso Old Parish Church and Sunday, January 26, in Teviot Church, Hawick. Tickets £7, available from choir members and at the door. Accompanied children free.
