Rotary working all around the world

At this month's meeting of the Midlem WI, Edith Scott gave an interesting insight into Rotary International and the Selkirk club, showing some of the community work the club carries out, through monetary donations and man hours.

Youth opportunities are high in the club’s activities, with various youth projects carried out each year, including the recent young musician competition when local vocalist Milly Coltherd made her way through to the district finals in Edinburgh, finishing a very creditable third place.

Edith told of the club’s impending visit to the Philippines next February, when some of the members will help refurbish the girls dormitory at a local orphanage.
