Raising Rotary’s profile in Selkirk

Friends and potential new members were invited to Selkirk Rotary Club’s Awareness Night.

As a part of the club’s quest to increase its profile, the head boy and girl from the town’s high school, together with the school’s charities committee chair, also visited the club.

Visitors and Rotarians had an informal meeting and a buffet at the club’s County Hotel meeting place. President David Sceats and membership chairman Les Rutherford welcomed visitors and thanked members of the business community for their assistance.

DVDs of the organisation’s work and its broad base of members were shown and everyone was given the opportunity to ask questions about club membership and it marketing campaign. Rotarians from Melrose, Peebles, Duns and Hawick were also in attendance.

More information about what it means to be a Rotarian is available from Les Rutherford (01750 20974 or www.ribi.org).
