A presentation next Thursday (April 23) at the Abbotsford Hotel in Galashiels by Network Rail project manager Colin MacDonald should be of interest to all who have marvelled at how the new Borders Railway has taken shape.
Mr MacDonald has overseen the design and construction of the line, which has resulted in the introduction of 30 miles of railway and seven new stations over the last three years.
He will present a detailed account of the development and explain the vast scope of engineering works being delivered, including some of the major challenges which have been overcome to deliver the longest new domestic railway to be built in Britain for more than a century.
The event starts at 5.30 for 6pm, with some light refreshments.
