The head of a provider of housing, care and support services for older people in the Borders has spoken of the need to manage ongoing financial pressures while continuing to deliver high standards.
Brian Logan, chief executive of Bield, which has services in various local towns, has said a “sustainable financial plan” is vital.
At the charity’s AGM, Mr Logan added that early next year a detailed consultation will take place with customers, staff and partners to pull together a five-year plan.
“I have lots of ideas about what should be in our next modernisation programme, but central to all of that will be understanding what our tenants and service users want,” Mr Logan said.
He added that a number of things are planned that will create positive, exciting changes for people who use the services, despite Bield facing budget pressures “like never before”.
