Police treating Selkirk death as unexplained

The death of a 49-year-old man in Selkirk this week is being treated by police in the Borders as unexplained.

Emergency services were called to a house on Ettrick Road at around 8.30am on Monday, following a call to the ambulance service about concern for a person.

The man, who has been named as Grant Fleming, was taken by to the Borders General Hospital where he later died.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We were called to an address in Ettrick Road, Selkirk, around 8.30am on Monday, August 13. Emergency services attended and a 49-year-old man was taken to Borders General Hospital where he sadly passed away.

“Enquiries continue into the full circumstances surrounding the death which is being treated as unexplained.

“A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
