Police seek youths after disabled man is attacked in Peebles

Police are looking to speak to a group of youths after a disabled man was robbed in Peebles.

No arrests had been made as TheSouthern went to press and police say enquiries are ongoing following the attack on the 61-year-old, who is partially sighted and was in a motorised buggy at the time.

The victim was left “in a state of distress” following the incident in Hay Lodge Park at around 9.45pm on Monday.

Police inquiries included tracing a group of youths who had started a bonfire near to Fotheringham Bridge in the park.

They also appealed for anyone with information to contact them as soon as possible.
