Officers have issued an appeal for witnesses after an attempted break-in at a house in Buccleuch Road, Selkirk.

The incident occurred at around 2.45am on Thursday morning, when the occupant heard a noise from downstairs and went to investigate and found a kitchen window had been forced open.

Chief Inspector Andrew Clark said: “This was a frightening incident for the occupier and we are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the early hours of this morning.”
