Playing around in Lauder

YOU can get three for the price of one at Lauder Public Hall later this month.

Three outstanding plays, three very different situations, are enacted in Lauder Amateur Dramatic Society’s Night of Comedy, Drama and Farce, from March 20-23.

Custard and Disenfectant by Jim Pinnock is a murder mystery with darkly comic humour.

In The Charity Shop we meet ladies from different backgrounds with various hang-ups. Enter a verbose and philosophical vagrant and life in the shop is turned upside down.

The audience is ultimately left to ponder whether or not charity begins at home.

Get Staffed by Frank Gibbons is set in the newest Buzz Hotel. Everything is going wrong. The barmaid is drunk. The receptionist is missing. The waitress is a nervous wreck, the chambermaid is incapable and the amorous chef seduces the staff and poisons the diners.

Director Margot Douglas said: “This year promises to be the best ever with brilliant performances from a fantastic cast of actors.”

The audience enjoys free wine and cheese in a bistro setting and there is a raffle with great prizes.

Tickets £7/ £8, available from the Premier Shop in Lauder, or call Gail for tickets and table bookings on 01578 722885.
