Before Saturday’s Tennent’s Premiership rugby match between Selkirk and Edinburgh Accies at Philiphaugh, wreaths were laid at the home club’s memorial plaque to players and officials who made the ultimate sacrifice.

This was performed by former Selkirk and SRU president Donald McLeod, ex-Selkirk, Scotland and Lions player John Rutherford, Selkirk president Gus Boag and David Deacon, of the Selkirk and Ettrick Forest branch of the Royal British Legion Scotland. Players, committee members and supporters then observed a minute’s silence before kick-off.
