“It’s such a fantastic community to be a part of, and it helps a lot to know our customers.”

For the 10th anniversary celebrations, the staff are hoping to have a bit of fun and help a couple of local charities along the way.

Counter assistant Susie Burns has been working as a counter assistant for two years.

She said: “We’re doing something different every day in our birthday week, starting on Monday, August 27 and ending on Saturday, September 1, which is our proper birthday. We’re giving discounts of 10% the whole week, so we can give something back to this superb community.

“We’re doing some quizzes, and an anagram competition, and the staff’s kids are helping out with a bakesale.

“We want to raise some cash for the Lauder Men’s Shed project, which is still in the starting-up stage, and we also want to help out the local sheltered housing at Kirk Care, as most of the residents are our customers.”

The staff have decorated their window specially for the occasion and are putting on a range of offers.
