It’s Green for go with independence campaign in Borders
The Borders branch of the Scottish Green Party held its AGM in St Boswells earlier this month.
The meeting was well attended by branch members, both in person and remotely using online access. Several new party members were welcomed at the gathering.
The AGM was followed by the launch of the Green Yes independence campaign in the Borders, pictured.
Branch co-convener Barbra Harvie said: “Independence will give us a chance to build a truly democratic Scotland, one based on the principles of peace, equality and respect for our planet.
“A large majority of Borders residents voted to remain in the European Union in 2016. Independence will provide us with a route back to EU membership as well as the powers we need to tackle the climate and nature emergencies in our own country.”
