An EXHIBITION by the late Scottish artist Nick Tweddle is on show in Peebles’ Eastgate Theatre.

At the time of his sudden death in August 2010, Tweddle was planning his first solo show in almost 30 years.

In honour of his life and the collection of paintings he left, the Tweddle family decided to continue with his plans.

Tweddle used various media – most of his work was in oils but he did some pencil, ink and watercolour pieces too, and the work reflects his delight in nature, his love of ancient Celtic knot-work, and a life-long interest in surrealism.

The collection was revealed to the public for the first time in February 2011 at Eden Court, Inverness and has travelled to Ullapool and Dundee.

Nick’s daughter Kate said: “We are hoping to bring people’s attention to this opportunity to see these unusual works of art.”

The exhibition, entitled Style in Mayhem, runs until May 20. For more information, phone 01721 725777.
