One of the first Men’s Sheds, which opened in Langlee recently, has been hailed as “a really valuable facility for the area and the men who will enjoy using it”.

Friends and family of the ‘Shedders’, plus representatives from many local organisations, gathered to celebrate the culmination of months of hard work in bringing the movement to the region.

Cutting the ribbon at the opening ceremony, Scottish Borders Councillor John Mitchell said: “I am so pleased and proud to open this excellent project. It has such a lot of potential, both for individuals and for the community.”

The Galashiels Men’s Shed is open every Wednesday and Thursday from 1-4pm in the former Borders Production Unit building near Langlee Community Centre.
