Not leading by example

I was walking with my wife in Floors Castle grounds a few weeks ago when our 13-year-old Cairn terrier was attacked by a free-running, very large German Shepherd – one of a number of dogs being exercised off the lead.

The handler had great difficulty pulling it away and establishing some control. So take care – not all dogs in the grounds comply with the displayed notice requiring lead control.

Our only consolation is that the incident did not occur a week earlier when we were also accompanied by two young grandchildren.
