Police Scotland has appointed a new Chief Superintendant for the Borders.
Chief Supt Gill Imery was named yesterday as the new local commander for Lothians and the Borders.
With more than 27 years in policing, Chief Supt Imery brings a vast amount of experience to her new role.
In June 2012, she was appointed head of CID for the former Lothian and Borders Police.
Most recently she was Detective Chief Supt for local crime and public protection.
CS Imery said: “I am very much looking forward to reacquainting myself with the area and its people and will be keen to understand the needs of the communities that we serve.”
The Chief Supt takes over from Chief Supt Jeanette McDiarmid.
