a NEW contact centre in Peebles serving both Scottish Borders Council and VisitScotland is being officially opened today by Captain David Younger, the Lord Lieutenant of Tweeddale.

The complex in the Chambers Institution has been operating for three months and is part of a council investment in the High Street complex.

Improvements have included disabled access between the library and the museum and refurbished offices for the Peebles and District Citizens Advice Bureau.

Chairman of the Chambers Institution Councillor Neil Calvert commented: “The refurbishment and the bringing together of these services in one central location has breathed new life into this important building.”
