Munro’s services taken over by other operators

The news came early this morning from Scottish Borders Council.

Since receiving notification, SBC transport staff have secured cover from other operators to ensure essential bus services delivered by the firm will continue to run. There are no changes to timetables.

All of the journeys will be covered by temporary arrangements in the immediate future. Some of the journeys will be covered by a new contractor from August 12 following the recent bus contract retendering exercise. The remaining journeys will continue to be covered until a tendering exercise can be undertaken and a new contractor appointed.

Munro’s operated the following services under contract to the council. The temporary replacement providers are in brackets after each journey:

z Some journeys on Service 20, Hawick-Jedburgh-Kelso (Peter Hogg/First/Perryman’s)

z Service 21, Jedburgh town service infrequent journeys (Peter Hogg)

z Service 51/52, Jedburgh/Kelso to Edinburgh (First)

z Service 54, Galashiels ASDA to Meigle Street (First)

z Service 61, Galashiels-Earlston-Lauder (First)

z Service 68, Jedburgh to Galashiels (Perryman’s)

z Service 74, Galashiels ASDA to Netherdale (First)

z Service 80, Kelso Town Service (SBC)

z Service 81, Kelso to Morebattle/Yetholm (Perryman’s)

z Service 83, Kelso to Sprouston (SBC)

z Service 131, Jedburgh to Newcastle, was delivered on behalf of Northumberland County Council and they are organising replacement provision
