A PEEBLES teenager is one step away from performing at London’s O2 Arena.
Morgan Davidson has made it through the first round of the Open Mic UK contest and will now head to the regional finals in Glasgow on September 24.
And if the 18-year-old singer can impress a capacity audience and judging panel, he will be picked for the national final at the 02, where the winner will receive a recording contract.
Having sung for many years, Morgan has previously won Peebles High School Idol competition and a Borders Rising Star contest.
And in June he performed with country singer George Hamilton IV at a charity concert to raise funds for victims of the tsunami in Japan, which included a rendition by Morgan of Amazing Grace in Japanese.
He is also a member of the InChorus choir, and was part of the party which jetted off to New York yesterday (Wednesday) to perform in a series of events to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
