Mics opened to young players

The last concert in the Hawick Music Live! season sees a return visit of the inspirational Trinity Belles Plus on Thursday, April 12 at 7.30pm.

These are gifted young music students studying violin at Trinity Music College, London whose age belies their skill.

Their tutor, Professor Andrew Sherwood, said: “This is a great learning curve for the students, especially when they perform in the Beanscene as they have competing sounds and distraction round about them when they are playing.”

For the past three years their accompanist has been Jim Letham, a well known Border musician and composer who will be performing again.

Their concert programme will include a host of popular and classical music and they will also present several free lunch time concerts in the Beanscene.

Hawick Music Live’s annual general meeting will precede this concert at 6.30pm to which all are welcomed.

Tickets £10 (students £2) are available at www.thebooth.co.uk, phone 01450 360688, at the VisitScotland box office and on the evening of the concert.
