Man and woman remanded in custody after facing attempted murder charge

A man and a woman have been remanded in custody after being charged with attempted murder in Galashiels at the weekend.

The pair appeared at Jedburgh Sheriff Court yesterday, March 21, following an alleged attack on a 30-year-old man at a flat in Torwoodlee Road, Galashiels, during the early hours of Saturday morning.

The unnamed victim man sustained serious injuries to his face and body likely to leave him scarred for life.

He has since undergone treatment at the Borders General Hospital in Melrose.

Jordan Inglis, 23, of Selkirk, and Kirsty McManus, 31, of Galashiels, are accused of assault to severe injury and permanent disfigurement, danger of life, hamesucken and robbery.

They also face a second charge of possession of a firearm.

The pair made no plea during a private hearing in front of sheriff Derrick McIntyre.

They were remanded in custody and expected to appear in court again next Monday.
